We collect eye glasses, cancelled postage stamps, and aluminum can tabs
Eye glasses
We collect used eye glasses for the local Lions Club, who send them to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center for processing. There the glasses are sorted to determine those that are usable or unusable, processed and placed in inventory for distribution to optical missions around the world. Lions help to minimize landfil waste by supporting precious metal reclamation and scrap processing for damaged glasses that are unusable. >
Cancelled postage stamps
We collect cancelled postage stamps for the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry. They request a 1/4 inch around the cancelled stamp and the prefered stamps are U.S Commemoratives, foreign, and stamps with a value of $1 or more, most forever stamps have no value. They remove the stamps form envelope corners and sell them to stamp brokers. The proceeds benefit ministries around the world.
Aluminum can tabs
We collect aluminum can tabs for local Ronald Mc Donald Houses. It takes approximately 1,128 tabs tp equal a pound and an average of .40 to .50 cents per pound is the pay out. The Pop Tab program helps provide extra revenue for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House while a sick child says in a nearby hospital.
